Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake Coming No Time Soon
If you've been sitting around waiting for Kingdom Hearts III, well then you can keep on waiting. In the latest issue of Famitsu, director Tetsuya Nomura commented in an interview with the weekly publication on the progress of both Kingdom Hearts III and the Final Fantasy VII Remake: they "still have a ways to go."
According to Nomura, there are still worlds yet to be developed, and worlds still being worked on (in reference to KH III), and the Final Fantasy VII Remake is still making "steady progression." Now if there is one thing we all know about Nomura, it is the fact that he is always striving for perfection and has very big ambitions. Some may say this is why he was ultimately pulled as director of Final Fantasy XV, but we may never know that story. The Kingdom Hearts series is Nomura's baby and has proven to be one of Square's most successful franchises so I doubt we will see shake-ups in director there.
While we wait on Nomura to get KH III perfected for us, we have Kingdom Hearts 2.8 coming on January 12th in Japan, and January 24th worldwide, to get us talking again for the year. Also, both the 1.5 and 2.5 Final Mix port is coming to the Playstation 4 at the end of March. As for the episodic Final Fantasy VII Remake... just keep on waiting.
