OverdoZ.: 4 Horsemen or 4 Heartbeats?! 2008 Explains.
The year of 2017 came to end 4 days ago and all we've been hearing is bitcoin, cardi B, and other flash in the pan shit we probably won't care about in 2018 honestly.
Now let's talk about something with some buzz to it, The motherfuckin OD/OZ!
This is the best group that's Never made it and they go by the name of Overdoz. Consisting of Kent Jamz, Good Joon, P. And Creamie (if you nasty). This quartet has been one of the best underground greats in the past 7 years, from dropping tracks with Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle and Kendrick Lamar in recent years after gaining The legendary Pharrell attention and assistance it seems they fell off the map for a year or two, after disbanding.
But it seems the boys are back, without the Pharrell machine behind them (Because we all know he moved on to cultivate Bad Bunny's Career.) Easily landing a feature from Miguel upon returning with their first cut back called "Backstage". This is an instant radio record and it doesn't fit in exact with the rest of 2008 but has major replay value, with that said let's disrespect 2008 a bit.
Its been a few years since the BOOM mixtape, 4 to be exact and honestly I thought they would be rusty but these dudes are back with the same energy and consistent flows. "Dance" In my opinion is the anchor to this album it needs a major push this could be the record that propels them to instant stardom with the right feature. perhaps SZA, Rihanna, Brunos Mars or even Drake it's a very fun upbeat record. Overdoz's Manifesto that getting ready for a party rap that you pregame too and crumble your weed to, happy feelings only. District + 10 million are great records, let the homies hit us a strong record as well. Now I can tell you how much I love the Overdoz group but I want to know what's next . They can't stop her ex they have to become the group of the year they have to become more consistent in releasing music, land more features and make more of an effort to swim mainstream not necessarily for the sound but for a wider audience. I can see Overdoz doing more collaborating with Nipsey Hussle, Frank Ocean, Chris Brown, Trippie Redd and a few other new artists coming out. Even PNB Rock or Russ they have the IT factor to be major players in the game but we need more consistency as a unit.
sincerely a fan - Ciello
