Happy Halloween Michael! With a franchise spreading 30 years, David Gorden Green’s 2018 Halloween movie brings a fresh a new cast into the classic cinema setting that is Haddonfield, Illinois. Green gives us an instant classic with the 2018 direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 horror masterpiece. From the open moment the bright orange text spelling out the film title appearance on the screen we are reminded that we too still believe in the boogeyman. With that idea placed in our minds Michael takes his first life; immediately setting a dark tone for the horrors we as the audiences are about the witness.

Finally she arrives on. The legendary screen queen Ms. Laurie Strode. Returning the role that changed her life is Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis’s character is much different than the wholesome babysitter we rooted for in the 1978 original film. Strode has become a regular “bad ass” owning an arsenal of weapons to battle her evil archenemy. It’s this character growth blended with the manyb talents of Curtis that makes her a powerhouse in each and every scene.

We can’t help but to sit at the edge of our seat waiting for Michael to appear behind closets and doorways. The music brings us back to what made that 1978 hit the legend it is today. Green’s “Halloween” brings the audiences the movie we have been waiting for. I can promise you’ll be as excited as Michael is to return to the erie streets of Haddonfield. One movie you don’t wanna miss.
