Around The World In A Day: 2019 Travel Destinations

New Year, New Goals or so we say? We are almost two full weeks into 2019 and out of curiosity how are you pairing up with your New Year's Resolution?

Well for us here at 12BY6, we like to plan a trip or two or three to remedy our every day work stress. Traveling is great for expanding the mind and spiritual growth or so I believe. With 350 some odd days left, let's plan some trips together for the best prices we can find.

2019 is the year to be daring, so here's a list of gutsy places to visit :

The Philippines

(Palawan - Puerta Princesa-El Nido Island)

Who wouldn't want to star the year here at Palawan, Philippines. Traveling from NYC straight to Puerta Princesa could be a bit steep ($900+ Round Trip) pricing but if you fly into Manila instead ($400+ RT) it'll only be an extra $100 or less to fly to Palawan from Manila totaling barely 500 bucks for a round trip on a separate continent. Home to Manny Pacquiao and some knock out beaches, Philippines has it all. Cheap foods, great culture, beautiful people and amazing people.

Best Time to Travel

April: $470 RT (from NYC)

Weather:  93 degrees

1 US dollar is worth 52.21 Philippine Piso.

This means your dollar has some extra added value behind it with meals averaging barely $3 dollars.

Put this on your list now.

Next up, we have the mother land, Africa!

South Africa -  Johannesburg + Capetown

Dont front, Africa doesn't look anything like you imagined. Africa the land of the beautiful, has some of the most diverse sceneries the world has to offer with outstanding weather patterns all year around. To me, There is nothing most humbling than visiting Africa. New York flights leaving from JFK normally has a short layover in Nairobi, Kenya then closing out on Capetown South Africa for flights between $650-900.

 Best Time To Travel

March: $781 Roundtrip

Weather:  80 degrees

Dollar Value: 1 US dollar is equivalent to 101 Kenya Shillings/ 14 South African Rands.

Thailand (Bangkok/Phuket/  Chang Mai)

This might of been the best place I ever visited. Hands down, sorry Bali. We stayed in Patong at an airbnb/condo for a very very cheap rate. Nothing but rave reviews for this area, the people, the food and the culture. In 2017 I brought the flights in November for travel in march 2018 for barely 400 dollars roundtrip. Such a freakin' STEAL! The American Dollar has so much value it makes everything so cheap. We drove ATV's through the streets of Thailand to witness some pretty amazing views, temples and beaches for barely 20 US dollars. James Bond Island, Big Buddha statue, I can go on for days.

Planning ahead on any of these places by 3-4 months in advance will drop the price by significant amounts of money. Airbnb are always a more affordable option to hotels but always check for both to compare locations and amenities.

Here's my honorable mentions list, for my ride or die travelers who need their stamps today:

FDF Fort De France, Martinique

Flights to Martinique in March are 240 dollars. Go visit here now. To be honest, I haven't been here myself yet but it has been highly recommended and at that price there's a strong chance I'm passing by for a short weekend.

DUB - Dublin, Ireland

The price to Dublin in March averages around $340 to $400, that's more than enough of a reason to go. Hurry the fook up as they would say.  I actually would like to return to Ireland because I didn't explore as much as I would of liked due to limited leisure time on my annual work trip. I did manage to visit the Guiness Store House Museum but that's it. 😢

This short list rounds up my top picks for cheap travelling in 2019 so far. I think these places are great to start with for new travelers and seasoned ones who just want just the right amount of adventure, culture and good vibes.
