Seattle Mariners Catcher Posts Insensitive Tweets About Police Victims, Black Lives Matter

In the wake of another police shooting, we have seen protests in Charlotte, North Carolina. The protest escalated violently and ended in another shooting. This led to a state of emergency being declared in the Tar Heel State. The people of Charlotte are fighting for change and although these are dark times, I do believe we are heading toward change. The problems are coming to the light and maybe it is the optimist in me, but the conversation is growing so we must find a resolution.

With every news circuit covering North Carolina the last two days, this topic has been a talking point for every person with an opinion. Now Twitter is a place where we see some of the most uninformed racial driven comments on the earth and we saw it again. This time, it comes from Major League Baseball player Steve Clevenger. The Seattle Mariners catcher saw what was going on and just had to take to Twitter to give his two cents.

Clevenger is on the wrong side of this and the sad thing is he doesn’t even know it. This tweet just shows the inner thoughts of a racially, tone deaf man. Looking from the Twitter avatar, I can just hope his daughter does not follow in your footsteps. Now I could rip the Seattle Mariners catcher all day, but the main thing readers should take away from this is that the movement is working. Yes, our people are still dying, but we are heading towards change. We need to keep this conversation going; do not get distracted by a journeyman baseball player with a Twitter account. We need to hold our legislators, politicians and police offers accountable. All the people against the Black Lives Matter movement will be on the wrong side of history just like the people who opposed segregation and gay marriage.  Stay alerted and stay informed.
