Trump TV: Making Television Great Again
The 2016 Presidential election rapidly approaches and the balance of the country lies between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. If I wrote that sentence two years ago people would surely believe it was a joke. Hell, if I wrote that four months ago people would still have thought it to be a gag. Trump and Hilary have squared off in two debates so far and there have been more names being dragged through the mud and more low-blow comments than any presidential race before. The race is drawing near the end and the Donald’s chances of becoming POTUS is slipping away with every comment or leaked video that comes out.
Now I will say, I like the odds of Trump not winning but I do believe we have given him too much leash. The man can say anything he wants and is damn near our president. I feel as if we have taken Pandora out it’s box and once Trump loses he will have nothing but free time to spew his political ideas. Trump has always been famous but his celebrity has never been bigger than during this presidential race.
Once Trump loses this race, which he will, he'll more than likely go weeks on complaining and disputing. Trump is not the type of guy to gracefully take a lost. I can already picture it, the daily Trump rant every morning on Fox and Friends, and just like every other Trump related video it will get millions of views and ratings. Eventually Trump will get tired of having to go through a middle man to get his points across. This is when Trump TV gets created.
Trump TV will be just like your normal conservative show with of course a huge twist. Although Trump is rich, I do not believe he will go all in and try to buy a station. I can see it starting as a web series on his website where people can watch it. Of course people would watch because Trump is all over our television screens and social media outlets.
Whether you love him or hate him the man gets ratings. Trump TV would consist of him questioning every move by newly elected President Clinton, as well as giving his closed minded opinion on any major American news story; just imagine if Trump had his own television show a few months back when the pressure cooker bombs went off in NYC. He’d have his followers in a massive uproar, calling for the president’s job and banning Muslims from the country.
I do believe that we as a country have created a Trump snowball effect. Trump loves to hear himself speak. He has a lot of followers and will leave a huge void once he finally loses. We will see him more than ever because his ego will force it. Trump TV will be real. He has ran pilot episode after pilot episode throughout his campaign, in the form of rallies. Trump knows there is a market for him and the ratings will be through the roof. We as a country were not ready for Trump in the White House but we have left the door open to Trump being the biggest political pundent this country has ever seen, forcing his way into our lives. Trump TV has the potential to be a ratings machine and if I can realize this, I know there's a brain in Trump’s camp can as well. We might not get four years of President Trump but we might get decades of Trump TV.
